who is Tydeman?
Galerie Tydeman was founded in 2010 by sister and brother, Mischa and Nanning Tydeman. Having both been raised with an eye for art and culture, and because their creativity was always encouraged, they grew up and made the natural transition into the world of artists, illustrators, designers and others working in various creative ways. Following a series of individual adventures, Mischa and Nanning decided that their creative strengths would work best if combined. Together they are proud to contribute to the Dutch art world with their passion and knowledge of the exciting world of fresh, upcoming and very special artists and designers from the Netherlands and abroad.
Head Curator, Nanning Tydeman, is the creative brain behind Galerie Tydeman and the House of Talent concept. It was through his art history education, his friendship network and the artists he has befriended that the first Tydeman collection was born. Subsequently he has built a solid artist network, and many more have joined the Tydeman collection from Nanning's scouting trips to numerous exhibitions over the years, or via the Tydeman website. He is also a gifted storyteller and enjoys giving tours of the House of Talent, engaging the viewer with fascinating background stories of the work and their auteurs. Nanning is stimulated by the opportunity to create a personal art experience for anyone who seeks it.
Director, Mischa Tydeman, is the two-hands of Galerie Tydeman and the House of Talent concept. She also has a creative education background, and busies herself with the practical side of the gallery. From clearing out her home to prepare the House of Talent exhibitions twice yearly, to arranging meetings with potential buyers and new artists, to organising viewings and sales, and taking care of administration and PR. She is passionate about the gallery because of a deeply ingrained love of art and design. She believes that having beautiful things around you makes life just that much more beautiful.
